- .The Campaign Outreach window opens to Step 1: - Campaign Information.
- In the Name field, click to enter "Name of campaign". For example, "COVID-19 Update: Seniors".
- In the Recipients field, click to add recipients by "People Tag". NOTE: People records must already be tagged prior to this step--either bulk uploaded and tagged by Support (support@ascendantapp.com) or individually tagged by office. For more information about People Tags click here.
- Click the Save and Next button to move to Step 2 - Content.
- Enter the "Initial message" for the texting campaign. For example, "Hi {{FirstName}}, this is Tony from Senator John Smith's office. We're having an event Thursday evening. Can you make it?". NOTE: The Initial Message field has a character limit of 500. To learn more about CRM Merge fields click here.

- Click the Automatically respond when possible checkbox to automatically respond when possible. If a contact's response starts with a recognizable "Yes" or "No", then the contact will automatically receive a preset "yes" or "no" response. NOTE: The contact will also tagged automatically with a "Yes" or "No" tag based on response.
- To send yourself a test (optional but encouraged), enter Mobile phone number and click Send Test button.

- "Yes" tag will be applied if the contact's reply begins with the word "yes",
- "No" tag will be applied if the contact's reply begins with the word "no",
- "Wrong number" tag will be applied if the contact's reply contains the words "wrong number",
- "Opt-out" tag will be applied if a contact's reply is "stop" or "unsubscribe."
