Ascendant helps protect the reputation of your CRM data by scrubbing, removing bad email addresses and mobiles (SMS/Texting clients only), any new data imports prior to uploading. To get a new data added to your account, please send your list in .csv (Comma Delaminated) or .xlsx (Excel) format to support@ascendantapp.com. Use this template to ensure you include the appropriate data and indicate the following in your email request.
- If an existing People tag should be applied on import
- Please provide the name of the existing People Tag
- If a new People tag should be applied on import
- Please provide the name of the new People Tag
- If a blank Conversation should be created on import

It's very important to note that data must be submitted in the proper format; otherwise, data will be returned to you with feedback on what needs to be done to clean up the data before resubmitting. Common issues include: too many/few numbers in the phone or zip code fields, including the extension in with the phone number (ie...2026697455 ext 23, invalid characters or spacing, address data not separated into correct columns (each part of the address must go into it's own column (ie...Street Address, Address 2, City, State, and Zip), States abbreviation have more than two letters or have punctuation), names or address in all caps, etc.
Data can only be imported to the fields outlined below. Please ensure that each type of data is contained in its own column within the Excel document.

- Middle Name
- Last Name
- Suffix
- Title
- Date of Birth - date should be in the following format 01/19/1966; we cannot import ages (ie...57)
- Home Phone Number - number should be in one of the following formats, 202-669-7455 or 2026697455 or (202) 669-7452; do not include any other characters; do not include more than one home number as we do not have a Home Phone Number 2 field.
- Cell Phone Number - number should be in one of the following formats, 202-669-7455 or 2026697455 or (202) 669-7452; do not include any other characters; do not include more than one cell number as we do not have a Cell Phone Number 2 field.
- Work Phone Number - number should be in one of the following formats, 202-669-7455 or 2026697455 or (202) 669-7452; do not include the extension or any other characters; do not include more than one work number as we do not have a Work Phone Number 2 field.
- Extension - should be numbers only
- Fax - number should be in one of the following formats, 202-669-7455 or 2026697455 or (202) 669-7452; do not include any other characters; ; do not include more than one fax number as we do not have a Fax 2 field.
- Email Address - should follow standard email address practices; do not include more than one email address as we do not have an Email Address 2 field.
- Organization Name
- Street Address
- Street 2
- City
- State - should be the two letter abbreviation with no punctuation
- Zip
- Message - We can import any type of single column data into the message field such as notes, etc.
